Kuyt Reveals Pride At Liverpool Performances

Unibet NL look towards Anfield for the latest football betting news:

Liverpool striker Dirk Kuyt has revealed that the club’s performances against the top sides in the Premier League have handed them the best chance possible of finishing in a Champions League spot at the end of the season. His comments came after Liverpool held high-flying Manchester City to a 1-1 draw at Anfield on Sunday, with striker Andy Carroll forcing Joe Hart to pull off a world-class last minute save from a shot that perhaps should have handed the home side victory.

The second half was dominated by Liverpool, who took full advantage of their numerical supremacy after Mario Balotelli was sent off for two bookable offences and forced Hart into one of the best goalkeeping performances in recent years in the domestic league.

It has now been over 14 months since Liverpool were beaten in the league by any of City, Manchester United, Arsenal, or Chelsea, and this season they have managed to beat two of those teams already.

According to Kuyt, this record is nothing short of “fantastic” and indicative of a bright future that manager Kenny Dalglish is building for as they seek to make sure next season presents their fans with Champions League football once again.

For now, though, Liverpool will just be focusing on their Carling Cup quarter-final against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, where they won just a week ago. If they can win that, then Liverpool fans might just start to believe that a trophy or two this season isn’t as unrealistic as it looked just a few months ago.
