2012 – the year the London Olympics come to town!

Have you got your tickets, were you disappointed not to receive any or are you still hoping that some may come your way? The London 2012 Olympics are closer than you think!

London businesses are poised to maximise their potential profits from this “once in a lifetime” chance to welcome sporting afficionados from all over the globe.  Recently, a bidder on eBay pledged to sponsor a British Sprinter in return for him wearing a branded kit from the winner’s company.

Apart from the building of all necessary structures required for the events, organisers have had to tackle London’s transport system which now promises to whisk spectators around the capital in double quick time, ready for their events.  There are already many online shops and chances to purchase the famous fluffy Mascots Wenlock and Mandeville, but in the Velodrome itself – apart from the three thousand five hundred seats, a further two and a half thousand will be suspended under the roof.  There will be shops, restaurants and areas to relax between events.

Then, of course, for avid sport tourists there will be the attractions and joys of London that have existed for many hundreds of years.  Hopefully the Tower of London, Buckingham Palace, the Natural History Museum, Tate Modern, National portrait Gallery and London’s amazing array of live theatres will tempt people to enjoy themselves long after the Games.  These sites will inspire visitors to return over and over again in the future.  Make no mistake the London 2012 Olympics will make a positive difference to London and to Britain’s future.
