brace Qatar SC to beat Al Rayyan

(AFZAL SHAIKH) July 03, 2007 – Saeid Faraj's
34 points braced Qatar SC to a thrilling 3-2
win over Al Rayyan in the Volleyball Golden
Formula test event at Al Arabi Sports Club
on Tuesday.
Al Rayyan's disgraceful form continued when
they suffered their fourth defeat in as many
as six matches in the competition. They lost
3-2 (18-25, 25-23, 26-24, 19-25, 15-7) in a
sea-saw battle.
Al Rayyan's star player, Walter Agoyar of
Cuba was given best player's trophy for his
admirable 62 points contribution.
Qatari Faraj shattered the opponents
challenge with solid spiking and
eye-catching maneuvers, he was later awarded
best players award.
Qatar SC managed to finish the championship
with 9 points for the second position, two
points behind Al Arabi, while Al Ahli and Al
Rayyan shared 8 points each for 3rd and 4th
places; however the scoring difference saw
Al Ahli on third place.
Al Arabi got richer by QR 35,000, followed
by Qatar SC with 25,000, Al Ahli 15,000 and
Al Rayyan 10,000 respectively.
